Data Security and Protection Toolkit

The Data Security and Protection Toolkit is an online self-assessment tool that allows organisations to measure their performance against the National Data Guardian’s 10 data security standards.

All organisations that have access to NHS patient data and systems must use this toolkit to provide assurance that they are practising good data security and that personal information is handled correctly.

if you want to register your practice with NHS.net mail this link explains what you need to have in place to be eligible to register for an account. It is covered within the toolkit.

Although the NHS England Local Office may ask you whether you have complied with IG10 requirements in the routine practice inspection it is more likely that it will be the CQC who ask you to produce specific proof or having complied.
